Their story
Ferdinand I, born in 1503 in Alcalá de Henares, rose to prominence as a key figure in 16th-century European politics. A member of the esteemed House of Habsburg, he held numerous significant titles throughout his life, including Prince-Elector, King of Bohemia, and Apostolic King of Hungary. His most notable role, however, was as Holy Roman Emperor, a position he assumed in 1558. During his reign, Ferdinand navigated complex religious and political landscapes, striving for stability within the Empire. He passed away in Vienna in 1564, leaving a lasting impact on the course of European history.
